Making McCook an Even Better Place to Call Home

MCFF Spring 2025

MCFF awarded nearly $100,000 during the Spring 2025 grant cycle to benefit a wide-range of organizations and activities that will make McCook an even better place to call home.

Grant recipients included McCook Public Schools, McCook Community College, 6th Floor/ArtBank, the McCook Athletic Group, SWNE Genealogical Society, and the Family Resource Center, as well as MCFF's Learn and Return Scholarship. MCFF is also partnering with the Humane Society for a challenge grant and provided new technology at the Keystone Business Center to benefit all users.  In addition, MCFF continues to support the YMCA capital campaign.

McCook Connects Bringing People Together

McCook Connects is a program developed by Community Hospital and MCFF to help connect newcomers and those visiting for a short time such as medical students with current residents who share a hobby or are of similar age.

The group also hosts events, such as a gathering during Third Thursdays.

The latest endevour is McCook Connects Coffee on the first Saturday each month. From 9-11 a.m. at Ember's Bakery, people gather over coffee and donuts. You can be new to town or lived in McCook for years, of any age or gender.

Plus there are goodie bags with resources available in the community.

Community Connection: Getting Involved with McCook's Murals

Each week, MCFF highlights what is going on in our community, how to get involved or ways to show your support...and make McCook an even better place to call home. This week: McCook has one very prominent mural on West First Street, which will be the backdrop for Wagner's Cruisin' on the Bricks on Sat., June 28. But McCook could use so many more, both to entice visitors to take pictures and for residents simply to enjoy their community. The next mural is underway and there is always the need for more hands, whether to paint or organize.
